Skylight
Skylight systems are a special type of glazing installed on a building's roof, designed to allow natural daylight to directly enter the home or building. Such installations are typically used for aesthetic purposes, as well as part of a building's overall passive heating, lighting, or ventilation system. A skylight can provide up to eight times more natural light than a standard window of the same size installed in a vertical wall.

TYPES
In modern architecture, three main types of skylights are commonly used:
• Fixed skylights - These are non-operable skylights designed solely to allow natural light into a space;
• Ventilated (operable) skylights - which can be opened manually or automatically to allow fresh air into the space, combining natural lighting with ventilation;
• Tubular skylights - These are compact, tube-shaped skylights designed to channel natural light from the roof interior spaces through a highly reflective tunnel.
